Thyme contains:
- thymol, a powerful anti-infective
- geraniol, antifungal and antiviral (for the skin)
- linalool, a natural antifungal (for conditions such as candidiasis) and a vermifuge
How to use:
Thyme powder can be used as an infusion or cold. It mixes into a glass of cold water. It can also be used in boiling water, as for a thyme infusion, with thyme honey.
Thyme powder is also used in the formulation of certain homemade cosmetics.
Animals:
Thyme powder is also used for animals, in the feed of hens and horses.
For better absorption, thyme leaves and stems are turned into powder. The powdered thyme tops are then mixed into the animals' feed (ask your vet for advice).
